Youngest ever solo circumnavigator uninjured
The Australian solo around-the-world yachtsman Jesse Martin has walked away uninjured after crashing his car into a train.
Martin, 27, was the only occupant of his 1995 Daewoo when it drove through a barrier and collided with a train at McKinnon, in Victoria, Australia, on Wednesday morning
The collision started a small fire and passengers on the train were evacuated, disrupting services for half an hour.
Martin achieved fame in 1999 when he became the youngest person ever to circumnavigate the globe solo in a yacht. This record is currently being contested by the 16-year-old Briton, Mike Perham, and the 17 year-old American, Zac Sunderland.
Martin was unavailable for comment.
