Rustler Yacths donates boat

Rustler Yachts of Falmouth have donated a 42 foot Rustler hull to the Armed Forces charity ‘Turn to Starboard’. Squadron Leader Shaun Pascoe, said: ‘This amazing gift allows us to begin our boat build project and aspire to one day owning our own so that we can do even more servicemen sailing.’

Shaun, who founded the charity, has served on various operational tours including Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Iraq and repeatedly in Afghanistan as the Officer Commanding of the Medical Emergency Response Team, a team which projects forward using the Chinook helicopter to retrieve and treat the seriously injured in extreme conditions.

Turn to Starboard is a registered charity that uses sailing courses to support Armed Forces personnel that have been affected by military operations. We support Serving, Retired and their families.

Whilst experiencing the established therapeutic effects of the sea, participants sail with those who have served in hostile and austere environments. Our focus is on resettlement, reintegration and reinforcing a sense of value and belonging.

‘We support families affected by military operations. They sail with us to benefit from a shared experience, helping them re-engage after separation.
We also help individuals completing operational tours or requiring resettlement assistance can train on a Zero to Hero programme, designed to build confidence and self esteem through learning new skills, which leads to a new career as a Yachtmaster,’ Shaun added.

Turn to Starboard is seeking any individuals or companies wishing to help in the completion of their Rustler.
