A property tycoon has bought the Swedish boatyard of Nord West & Najad yard, IBI reveals.

The previously anonymous part owner of Nord West & Najad, who acquired the bankrupt Swedish yard alongside Runo Gillholm of Gillholms Marina on July 10th, has been named as Thomas Olausson by Sweboat’s Båtbranschen magazine.

Thomas Olausson’s family was originally active in the fruit business, but sold their company some years ago. Thomas Olausson then invested in real estate. Today he’s active in three real estate companies in Stockholm and the Gothenburg region.

Olausson bought Nord West & Najad together with Runo Gillholm, who runs Gillholms Marina some 20 minutes north of Gothenburg by car, in July. Gillholm’s company is active in the marine business as an importer of Windy and Minor motorboats in the west and south of Sweden.
