Maltese Falcon is nothing if not photogenic but she seems to find herself in some amazing photos. After a collision between Maltese Falcon and a yacht 249ft shorter, featured on our Telltale blog , now she turns up in a stunning photo taken on 11 October by local artist and sculptor George Dapsevicius , presenting a scene worthy of any Hollywood epic.

She was in San Francisco at the end of a circumnavigation, anchored in Belvedere Bay within sight of owner Tom Perkins’ home with her yards dressed in light. In the background Angel Island, the largest island in the bay at 740 acres, is ablaze and the fire spread quickly, fanned by the wind. Forty campers were evacuated and the fire was extinguished by the following day.
