Barbican 35 - steady performance and good handling
Barbican 35
Launched in 1987, this was a reworking of the Holman and Pye Super Sovereign 35 ketch as a masthead sloop with a new range of interiors.
Built by Barbican Yacht Construction, they were extensively customised but basically the long-keeled, slim hull form from the mid-1970’s was echoed in the solidly built, traditional teak joinery.
She offers up to six berths, a good-sized heads foward, a practical galley with good headroom under the low doghouse and a good chart table. The saloon is narrow but not cramped. Performance is steady and she handles well.
