Crew prepare trimaran to be shipped back to France
The capsized French yacht Groupama III is being prepared for shipment back to France after being towed back to Dunedin on Saturday.
The trimaran capsized a week ago following the loss of its leeward float. Later efforts to right it were unsuccesful, and the inverted craft was was towed to Dunedin, New Zealand, on Friday, but because of commercial shipping traffic could not enter the harbour until Saturday afternoon.
Groupama was turned the right way up in the harbour, with the help of a tug, two mobile cranes and several small boats.
