Tin Can towed into port with structural failure

David Vann, who on Friday left San Francisco to attempt a 4-month circumnavigation on his home-built aluminium trimaranTin Canhas been forced to call into Santa Cruz for repairs.
Locals have reported on the forums on the Sailing Anarchy website that there is major cracking around the area where the crossbeams attach to the hull, and that Mr Vann intends to repair the damage before carrying on with his voyage.
The failed weld which forced Tin Can’s return to port.
