Tourists climb aboard Royal Yacht
Berthed in Leith, Edinburgh, since 1998, the Royal Yacht Britannia has proved a huge hit with visiting tourists, leading VisitScotland to award it the highest rating ever awarded to a tourist attraction. The ship scored an impressive 95.6 per cent when it was rated recently, with inspectors hailing it as “outstanding” and “seamlessly integrated”.
Highlights of the yacht tour include the State Dining Room, Sun Lounge and Engine Room. In recent years the attraction has added audio tours in Hindi and Arabic to cater for visitors from India and the Middle East, and acquired the classic Rolls-Royce Phantom V car which took the Queen to official engagements.
