A new webcam sited at the Ponsharden boatyard in Falmouth is beaming live pictures of students building Cornish Luggers into Cornwall’s National Maritime Museum.

 While students from Falmouth Marine School build the Luggers, visitors to the Maritime Museum can watch them on a touch screen next to the Museum’s boat workshop. The screen also provides information about the Marine School’s boatbuilding courses.

You can also see a finished version of the Cornish Luggers moored on the Museum’s pontoon. These two Cornish Luggers, built by last year’s students, are based on Veracity, a Mount’s Bay Pilchard Driver, and are now for sale.  Students build the Luggers in order to revive traditional techniques and then the boats are sold at the end of each year.
