The UK Sailing Academy in Cowes has announced that after 16 years at the helm their chief executive officer, David Green. is standing down to launch his own business in sponsorship and fund-raising.

‘I have had 16 magical years running the UKSA, including a marvellously productive relationship with the founder, Noel Lister,’ said David Green. ‘I have watched the organisation grow from small beginnings to an immensely diverse range of charitable activities and I still take pleasure and pride in seeing young people go out on the water in dinghies for the first time.’

‘The Gipsy Moth project, in particular, is providing an unforgettable experience for disadvantaged young people and the success of this initiative is the perfect springboard for me to take on fresh challenges.’

The chairman of the UKSA Board of Trustees, David Lister, commented: “David Green has made an incalculable contribution to the success of the UKSA and to the lives of those who have benefited from its charitable activities. Sponsorship and fund-raising are increasingly important to us in our activities such as the UKSA Chichester Scholarships, our new Yacht Racing Academy and Bursaries for younger people, as well as the Gipsy Moth project.
