Crew safe but boat holed
Gipsy Moth IV struck a reef and the crew has been taken off. All are safe and a rescue is being organised.
The boat hit the reef off Rangiroa, the largest island in the Tuomotos group, on Saturday. The low lying islands are some 150 miles east of Tahiti.
Initial reports state that there is a hole in the starboard side above the galley. The boat is not being pounded and salvage plans are underway.
