Mini-cruiser did not have stability clearance
In July last year a grandfather and his son died after their Bez 2 sailing cruiser Mollyanna capsized off Puffin Island, North Wales.
The Marine Accident Investigation Board have condemned the boat as not meeting RCD stability and buoyancy requirements. The boat proved difficult to right following capsize and water flooded into the flotation spaces between the deck and outer hull when swamped.
There are 31 such boats in the UK.
