From township street gangs to the foredeck of a world class yacht
Two crew members of South Africa’s America’s Cup challenge grew up in the gang-ridden crime world of the country’s townships.
Golden Mgedeza and Marcello Burricks are two of the seven-strong black crew members of South Africa’s first ever America’s Cup challenge.
They both had to face violence at the hands of gun and knife-wielding gang members which has helped make them tough and resilient yachtsmen.
