A flying fish has been caught – alive – in a fisherman’s net while he was trawling at night just a mile off Penzance, Cornwall.

The 15 inch long flying gurnard is native to the Mediterranean Sea and waters of the Philippines, but many believe global warming is drawing creatures further north.

The fish is being kept in a local aquarium.
