Three schoolgirls and a lifeguard were ‘saved’ from being attacked by a great white shark by a ring of dolphins.

Even when the lifeguard – Rob Howes – tried to swim out of the circle the dolphins nudged him back at the bathing beach in Whangarei, New Zealand.

The group were 100 yards off the beach when the seven dolphins circled them.
