Singers raise cash for disabled sailors
200 crooners sang Handel’s Messiah in the ancient Holywell Music Room in Oxford, to raise money for Oxford Sailability.
The club is based at Farmoor Reservoir in Oxfordshire, and is trying to raise £200,000 to build a special pontoon that will allow more disabled people to enjoy sailing.
£4,800 was raised. For more information on the project and details of other fundraising events, call Bill Proctor of the Oxford Sailing Club on 01235 815943.
