Global Challenge yachts head to London for Open Day in aid of Save the Children on Bank Holiday Monday
The entire Global Challenge Race fleet is to sail from Plymouth to St Katharine’s Haven, London, for a week of festivities anbd corporate events. Tower Bridge will open for the yachts at 8.30am on Saturday 1st May as they arrive in London.
On Bank Holiday Monday, May 3rd, there will be an Open Day when yachts will be open to the public with a host of fundraising activities for Save the Children.
The day’s activities will start at 10:00hrs with the Tower Crier announcing the event in and around St Katherine’s Docks and the Tower of London Area.
Race Yachts will open to the public and throughout the day competitions, demonstrations and children’s entertainers will keep everyone amused. Live music will provide a backdrop to events such as children’s face painters, puppet shows and clowns.
Race crews will entertain the public with various demonstrations and fundraising initiatives.
