Paintings of Captain James Cook executed while he was making his voyages of discovery on show
Captain James Cook was captured in oil by William Hodges who sailed with him during his famous 18th century voyages of discovery.
Now paintings by Hodges – including landscapes of New Zealand and the South Pacific – are to be shown at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich.
William Hodges 1744 – 1797: The art of exploration runs from 6 July to 21 November.
