The body of an 80-year-old yachtsman has been found near Martlesham Creek on the River Deben, Suffolk.

Not far away was his GRP dinghy. The sailor had set off the previous afternoon in his dinghy from Waldringfield on passage up river to Woodbridge to collect his boat from a boat yard.

His car was found parked at Waldringfield and his boat is still at Woodbridge. Somewhere en route tragedy struck. A Coastguard helicopter, Harwich inshore lifeboat and a police helicopter were used in the search.
