Sad news for Holland-bound yachtsmen
The well loved proprietor of the fish and chip shop at Browershaven in Holland has died unexpectedly at the age of 52.
Peter Dijkstra – who ran the Seahorse Fish Restaurant in the town – was always the first port of call for UK yachtsmen pining for their national dish.
‘We have been going there for about the last 20 years,’ said veteran yachtswoman Paddy Harrison who sails a Contessa 32 from Benfleet Creek in Essex, ‘he always made the British visitors very welcome as well as selling excellent fish and chip suppers. Most of the British crews we have met in Holland seemed to go there.’
