Having been cancelled last year due to Foot and Mouth, this year sees the Three Peaks Race making a come back on Saturday 15 June
On Saturday 15 June, Barmouth in Wales sees the start the 25th Three Peaks Yacht Race, which, for the fourth consecutive year, is being sponsored by Helly Hansen. This celebrated event attracts sailors from all corners of the world.
This punishing race takes sailors and runners up the West Coast of Great Britain to face some of the most treacherous waters and run up the highest mountains in Wales, England and Scotland, including cycling part of the way to Scafell. More than 120 participants put themselves through rigorous training to take part in this endurance test.
Last year The Race had to be cancelled due to the outbreak of Foot and Mouth, the first time the event had not been held since it was established in 1977. This year the organisers hope that things will go ahead as normal.
