Fishing boat runs up 20,000 plus (pounds sterling) bill for breach of collision regs
Folkestone Magistrates fined the owner of the fishing boat Honeybourne III, Andrew Scott, six thousand pounds plus 3110 in costs for steaming the wrong way in the Dover Strait traffic separation zone.
The skipper of the vessel, George Wood, was also fined eight thousand pounds plus 3110 in costs for the same offence.
The boat had steamed 17 miles the wrong way up the south west lane at 12 knots. The pair pleaded guilty to the offences and also sailing without sufficient charts.
