The preview day has kicked off to a wet start, the weather and fuel shortages have failed to deter crowds from enjoying the first day of the show, which has opened with the launch of many spectacular new products.
Ecco has launched the Ultimate Sailing Shoe (USS). Designed for Pete Goss and his crew aboard Team Philips, the USS replaces boots and deckshoes. Constructed from 87 components, the USS is built to last and will be introduced into the UK next spring.
Simrad have launched a new VHF radio which incorporates DSC. The RD68 is an ideal GMDSS unit for yachtsmen, and it’s timely launch meets the demand ever likely after the introduction of the new RYA VHF courses and certificates.
