Yachting Monthly is to sponsor the Family Trophy for the second consecutive year. The Yachting Monthly Family Trophy will be awarded to the winning boat with a minimum of four immediate family members on board in the ISC Handicap Groups.

To celebrate the Millennium, a record number of 2,000 yachts are expected to enter the 64th Hoya Round the Island Race, the largest and most popular yacht race of its type in the world, with over 10,000 competitors. Taking place on Saturday 10th June 2000, the 50 nautical mile race around the Isle of Wight will start at 0630 for the first group of boats off the Royal Yacht Squadron starting line at Cowes.

Commenting on the race, John Dudley, The Island Sailing Club Commodore, said: “We are delighted that Yachting Monthly is once again on board with us for Britain’s premier yacht race and we are all now working hard to continue building the profile for the first race of the new Millennium.”
