There’s a lot to bear in mind when crossing the Channel for the first time. Thankfully there’s a seminar to help...
If you’re unsure about the strength and heights of the tides, general navigation or the paperwork needed to venture into France, help is at hand. The Cruising Association (CA) will be holding a seminar on Sunday 17th January, to offer instruction on crossing the Channel and answer all your questions.
It will be held at 10am in CA house (just a few stops on the Docklands Light Railway, from Excel’s London Boat Show) and is hosted by three main speakers. Peter Carnegie has sailed extensively in this area and as a former yachtmaster examiner will be talking of his own experiences crossing in bad weather. A senior instructor from First Class Sailing and the CA’s training partner will then discuss various scenarios.
The seminar is open to both members and non-members, plus anyone joining the CA will be entered into a draw to win a £2,300 folding rib, or a Henri Lloyd Elite suit of oilies, worth £825.
