Charity sailor, Lindsay Court plans to sail round Great Britain and Ireland single handed and non stop to raise money for the fight against prostate cancer.

His yacht Maggie May, a Beneteau 37.5, is based in Poole and he plans to sail clockwise.

‘When it was suggested that we should involve a charity there was an obvious choice, which was to raise awareness, of prostate cancer and its symptoms.
 
‘Working in the plumbing industry which is pretty male oriented, one of my customers was devastated to learn that he had prostate cancer and thought he was going to die. However thanks to early detection he is now expected to live.

‘If we make a few pennies for prostate cancer on our way around that is great but if my web page stirs just one man to get checked out that’s even better,’ said Mr Court.
