Your passport is good enough
The Conservative Party is campaigning against e-Borders, according to Richard Ashworth MEP who has written to Robert Holden Hon Sec of the Old Gaffers Association.
Ashworth’s assistant, Emma Gurrey, said: ‘As a full member of the Single Market the UK has a responsibility to uphold freedom of movement, as well as other key freedoms. In this vein Richard, and his Conservative colleagues, believe that the information contained on your passport should be sufficient and the e-Borders scheme is excessive and inappropriate. In fact the Conservatives have been campaigning against these measures for some time and we will continue to do so.’
Mr Holden had made enquiries to see if e-Borders was ‘illegal’.
