Introduced in 1980, by the time the updated 106
had ceased production in 1987, 356 of this model
by Joubert·Nivelthad been buill Its success was
due to a combination of very competitive pricing
and a simple but practical and, above all,
spacious interior. Mostofthe sales were of
the standard version but an owner’s Master
version of the 106 also sold reasonably
well. The 105 had a single after cabin, and
galley tucked away behind the
companionway. The heads was
forward and theforecabin was a bit
cramped. The 106 had some
small modifications to the hull,
keel and rudder for better
performance but the
accommodation was
substantially the same. The
galley was improved butthe
saloon was a bit smaller. The standard
version has two after cabins whereas the Master
has just one, A plus version had a bigger rig and higher performance. The
105 had three keel options butthe 106 had fin only.
