Folk Dancer
The evidence for the Folkboat ancestry of
this 1967 Frederick Parker design lies
mainly below the waterline. Above, the
distinctive break in the sheerline, flush
foredeck and extended transom, are
all her own. With over 50 percent
ballast and a conservative rig she
is extremely stiff. She was
regarded as a proper, sea-going
yacht, with the emphasis on
good performance and
handling ratherthan
accommodation, though
thefour/five berth layout
allowed reasonably
comfortable living.
The Hurley Marine
moulded hulls were
sound but the
Russel Marine fit
out was plain.
