Finesse 28
A F Platt produced a range of small, clinker built cruisers to
standard designs – perhaps the last buitderto do so – and
this was the lasland largest of his models, launched in
1985. Designed by Maurice Griffiths, she is a round, full
bodied, long keeled creek crawler with four berths and,
usually, gaff rig. Platt built them beautifully and they should
have lasted well, with reasonable maintenance. Although to
standard plans, each boat was fitted out individually totrim
and features vary. Options include a pilothouse. The range
started at 21 ft (6.4m) and the most popular was the Finesse
24, photographed here, very similar in
shape and style to the 28.
