With the slightly offbeat looks one associates with many designs from
Group Finot, this early 1970s cruiser-racer is a much better boat than the
small number built suggests. Below her rollover coachroof is 6ft 4in (1.9m)
headroom and six berths including a large double vee-berth in the forepeak,
two secure pilotberths in the saloon and a modest-sized aft cabin running
under the port side of the cockpit with a distinctive round window in the
transom. She is beamy for her era and reasonably spacious; although the
original cabin layout was designed to accommodate a full racing crew it can
easily be modified to suit a cruising family or couple. She is quick, notably
so in light airs despite her chunky masthead rig, easily handled and a good
offshore boat for fast passage-making. Most were built by Fastnet Marine.
Fitting out was taken over by Atlanta Marine in the late 1970s. She was still
being produced more than a decade after her inception, and well-maintained
examples with a good inventory can command relatively high prices.
