Dufour 34
A sparkling performer which scooped the European Yacht of the Year award.
This Umberto Felci design from 2002 sports a fi ne, deep iron keel and a slim
but very deep rudder, set on a sleek hull that slips through the water with the
minimum of fuss and effort. She is rewarding to sail and delightful on the
helm. The topsides and coachroof are quite low, yet she manages more than
6ft 1in headroom below decks. Despite the racy hull shape, the cockpit is
fi tted out for short-handed cruising with either wheel or tiller steering. The
latter provides more comfortable seating for the helmsman. Below decks,
the layout is seamanlike and practical,
if not the most spacious in her class.
From stem to stern it comprises
a large V-berth in the forecabin,
ample hanging lockers, a narrow
dinette with seating for six, an
impressive, forward-facing nav
station opposite a compact
but practical galley with
plenty of stowage, a
well-proportioned heads
compartment and a
double aft cabin.
