Cutlass 27
This typical Alan Hill-designed long-keeled cruiser was built by Marine Construction (Marcon) and first launched in 1968 as the Cutlass, but extensively updated in 1974 as the Cutlass 27. With a long production run, numbers reached nearly 200. She has four berths, 5ft l0in headroom, and basic cooking and navigating facilities in a somewhat cramped interior by modern standards. She is a good seaboat – reasonably quick and easy to handle. Construction was stout but unsophisticated. Many were home-completed.
LOA 8.2m (27ft), LWL 6.1m (20ft), beam 2.33m (7ft 8in), draught 1.37m (4ft 6in), displacement 6,496kg (13,227lb). Price guide: £8,000 to £12,000.
