Mooring line takes head off jet skier
Death on the ocean wave can come from the most unexpected quarters, but surely the beheading of a jet skier must go down in the annals of seafaring as one of the most grisly and bizarre.
The unfortunate ‘leisure boater’ as the RYA now classifies us was riding at night at considerable speed on his marine motobike and failed to spot the mooring line of a nearby yacht.
His death has sparked calls for a clean up of the Florida waterways where more than 1,200 derelict yachts lie abandoned after severe hurricanes in recent years.
