The Sonar Server is a wireless gateway for transferring your yacht’s NMEA data (both 0183 and 2000) to a smartphone or tablet. This data, speed depth wind speed and angle can be displayed in apps like iNavX. However when used with the Navionics charting app it allows sailors to survey as they go. This data is saved as you go  so you can see contours on the sea bed being created on the Navionics app as you go. The data can also be sent to Navionics for inclusion on their Sonar Charts layer – their crowd-sourced data which can be turned on or off while using the latest Navionics cartography. Community boating at its best!
