Yachting Monthly’s first Gipsy Moth IV fundraising event for 2005 is a talk by Giles Chichester, son of Sir Francis, at Schroders London Boat Show, on Saturday 8 January from 3.30pm-4.30pm, in the Waterfront Rooms 31/32, Excel Centre.

The talk, ‘My father’s voyage around the world’, will describe Sir Francis’ 226-day, 29,630-mile voyage in 1966-67, when he made just one stop in Sydney. At the time it was the fastest small boat round-the-world voyage.

The cost of a ticket to the lecture is £10 (including VAT) and £8.51 will go towards the restoration fund for Gipsy Moth IV. Or there is a special combined lecture and boat show ticket price of £20.
