Oarswoman in poignant bid to remember father
A lone oarswoman is to row from Australia to Mauritius in memory of her father. Sarah Outen, 23, hopes to become the first woman to row the 3,000 mile journey, as well as the youngest woman to row any ocean. Moreover, she is determined to beat the current record of 107 days held by Briton Simon Chalk.
She is pictured here in a striking photo by award-winning photographer Jude Edginton – whose most recent commission was the 2008 British Olympians.
Sarah is raising funds for Arthritis Care, in memory of her late father who lived with the disease for many years.
