Three America's Cup winning boats have commenced their transatlantic crossing aboard a floating dock
Two dozen New York Yacht Club yachts, including three past America’s Cup winners, begin their voyage to the America’s Cup 150th Anniversary Jubilee at Cowes in the UK today aboard the semi-submersible yacht carrier Super Servant .
Dockwise Yacht Transport claims to be the operator of the world’s only submersible yacht carrier cargo ship.
The ship is completing the in-water positioning of the NYYC yachts directly above cradles on the submerged deck of the carrier Super Servant, before the ship slowly rises from the waters off Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island, lifting the yachts more than 15 ft above the waterline, in preparation for their 3,100 nautical-mile journey to the UK.
