Yachtsmen in auction for Corry role

A ‘walk on’ part in TV’s most famous and longest running ‘soap’ will be auctioned in aid of  Help For Heroes at a Gala Dinner to be held by The Royal Southern Yacht Club on 18th April.

The chance to appear in Coronation Street will appeal to viewers of the popular programme and the opportunity is expected to create  a great deal of interest at the auction, conducted by famous Auctioneer Nick Bonham, at the fundraising event to be held at the Club’s waterside premises at Hamble.

Donated by actor, Craig Charles, a former Bursledon resident who plays cab driver Lloyd Mullaney in Coronation Street, the ‘walk on’ part is one of 10 key lots to be auctioned at the event which will be attended by 270 people. The ‘walk on’ part will take the form of a  brief background appearance in a shot during filming of an episode of Coronation Street, together with a tour of the set and meeting  members of the cast.

Initiated in October 2007, HELP for HEROES has become, in the words of the Prime Minister, a ‘National Institution’ which has already raised £1 million a month to help support our wounded servicemen and women injured in the current conflicts.  It is appropriate that Coronation Street, another ‘National Institution’ will be helping to contribute to the funds used to support these brave service personnel.

There are still a few tickets left for the Gala Dinner on 18th April.
