The 14th Blue Water Rallies one-day seminar on long-distance cruising will be held on 18 September at Solent University Conference Centre, Southampton.

A panel of cruising experts, including Yachting Monthly’s premier technical writer, Nigel Calder, author of The Boatowner’s Mechanical and Electrical Manual, will be there to give advice.

Topics include choosing and fitting out a boat, electrical systems, power-management, communications, navigation, first-aid and counteracting piracy. The seminar costs £30 per
