According to Richard Craven, Chichester Harbour Master and Acting Conservancy Manager, a recent survey of the entrance to Chichester Harbour found that depths over the bar had a least depth of 1.1m below Chart Datum.

Within the channel into Chichester Harbour, you may encounter the least depth of 1.1m, just to the north of the Bar Beacon

Reeds Almanac advises that the channel is sometimes dredged to 1.5m, although this can be reduced following storms and sailors should assume a least depth of 0.8m below Chart Datum in any case.
