Dredging work will be carried out on Chichester Harbour bar from Thursday 29 October to Sunday 1 November
Anyone sailing in or out of Chichester Harbour this weekend should be aware that Chichester bar will be dredged from today, Thursday 29 October until Sunday 1 November 2015, as long as the weather holds.
The dredger Sospan Dau, a 73m (240ft) will be carrying out the work using a trailing suction hopper and will operate, day and night, during the period HW -3 to HW +1. It will spray the dredged material onto the seafront at Hayling Island.
Sospan Dau will be restricted in its ability to manoeuvre during dredging operations, and mariners are requested to keep clear. Between dredging operations it is anticipated that Sospan Dau will wait in anchorage area:
