RYA Volvo Dinghy Show
It may be a dinghy show but the sight of some big ‘dinghies’ – like the Dragons _ will lift the heart of any sailor. This year’s RYA Volvo Dinghy Show boasts some of the sailing world’s most elegant classics for you to feast your eyes on as well as dinghies at the forefront of new technology and design.
Some of the earliest built International 14 dinghies will be on display (west corridor) in a unique chronological display of the classes design over the last 10 decades. The class association will be on hand (stand B44) to fill you in on their history as well as offer advice on how to get involved in their events.
In celebration of the Dragon Classes 80th anniversary the British Dragon Association will be making their show debut this year, bringing with them a beautifully crafted brand new Petticrow Dragon – a real treat for visitors to enjoy. See for yourself the craftsmanship that goes into building a handcrafted classic dinghy on the Redwing Dinghy Class Association by dropping into one of their live demonstrations from the Good Wood Boat Company at 11:00am and 3:00pm each day of the show.
The RYA Volvo Dinghy Show 2009 runs over the weekend of the 7th and 8th March at Alexandra Palace London. To find out more and book your tickets online, visit Here
