Coastguards rescued a man who fell 150 ft down a cliff near Sidmouth in Devon. He survived with minor injuries thanks to a tree which broke his fall.

A rescuer was lowered down to the casualty who was also found to be suffering from hypothermia.

Coastguard Jim Anderson said: ‘He was lucky to have survived.’
