Yorkshire businessman, Dale Deacon, is setting off on an adventure of a lifetime to raise money for a local hospice.

The owner of a Bradford-based label company is joining the crew of a sailing yacht which will undertake a circumnavigation of the entire coastline of the UK and Ireland in 2011.

‘The journey is over 2000 miles and will take us about 6 weeks to complete,’ says Dale, who describes himself as a ‘relatively new but very enthusiastic sailor’.

‘Overgate Hospice do incredible work for ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances. So far we have raised over £2500 and have been overwhelmed by the generosity of friends and businesses.’
