Sad news for ARC 2011
Tragedy has struck the 26th edition of the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers with the death of a sailor from a heart attack. Andrew Nash, 64, a crew aboard Ocean Wanderer, a Westerly Oceanlord 41 died today.
A spokesman for the ARC said:’Our thoughts and prayers are with Andrew’s wife and family, and with his crewmates aboard Ocean Wanderer. Andrew’s family have been informed.’
The yacht crew are in contact with MRCC Fort de France, and are currently continuing on to Saint.Lucia.
Sixty nine boats have now arrived safely in St Lucia after the 2,700 mile crossing from Gran Canaria.
