Web page used famous ketch in 'test'
Images of Sir Francis Chichester’s famous world-girdling yacht, Gipsy Moth IV, have been published on the pages of a UK-based Internet yacht brokers which sparked fears she is for sale.
However pictures of the 53ft ketch were simply being used as a pilot for a new ‘famous boat’ section of the online chandlery and she is NOT on the market.
A spokeswoman for the UK Sailing Academy, told YM: ‘The photos were taken last summer and used on a “live test” page. The live testing will be halted immediately as it has clearly caused confusion with members of the public. She is not up for sale.’
