Yacht collides with merchant ship in fog
A rescue helicopter is airlifting the crew of a yacht that has collided with a merchant ship in thick fog off the south Cornwall coast.
Visibility was down to 300m (1,000ft) when the vessels collided about 15 miles off the Lizard.
Falmouth Coastguard is co-ordinating the rescue by RNAS Culdrose after an alert just after noon today, Wednesday.
The two crew members of the 34ft yacht Maelys, who are believed to be French, are safe and well.
