Disabled yachtsman recognised
Disabled yachtsman Geoff Holt has won the BBC TV (South) Sports Personality 2007 award with a record 57% of the public vote, the highest ever winning margin for the awards.
Geoff, 41, is the first disabled person to sail around Britain. He made his 1,400 mile voyage aboard a 15ft trimaran dinghy in 114 days.
‘Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me,’ said Geoff. “I can’t begin to tell you what an honour it is to win these awards, and I will be forever grateful to all those who helped me.’
