BBC seek volunteers to re-enact D Day on film
The BBC are enlisting an Army of young yachtsmen to re-enact the Normandy Landings of World War II. If you are male, aged 18-24 and fit, then they want to hear from you.
Volunteers will take part in a four week rapid training exercise, based on the training that the D-Day forces undertook 60 years ago. This will be filmed and shown as part of the BBC’s coverage commemorating the D-Day landings.
If selected you will be taken straight to a training camp from 16th February – 14th March for training by the Army the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines. Veterans from the D-Day landings will be on hand to offer advice and recount their own ordeal.
Contact Ben Crichton on 020 87527554 or ben.crichton@bbc.co.uk by Friday 6th Feb for an application form. The deadline for forms to be returned is Wednesday 11th Feb.
